Driver Fleeing from Prior Accident Causes Fatal Crash

Drivers in Sarasota and the surrounding areas can be involved in motor vehicle accidents without warning. These crashes can happen for many reasons, including drunk driving and distracted driving.

Often, these accidents lead to major injuries and fatalities. The circumstances of the accident must be examined to determine how and why it happened so those who were impacted can take the necessary steps to consider a legal filing for compensation. This is especially important when one of the drivers is known to have committed legal violations at the time of the accident.

A two-vehicle accident claimed the life of a teenager and injured three others. A driver ran a red light as he was trying to flee from a previous accident and crashed into the second vehicle. The second accident happened at approximately 11:30 p.m. when a 23-year-old man went through the light as he drove his vehicle in a reckless manner.

The people in the other vehicle were teens. The 18-year-old female driver and an 18-year-old passenger were ejected from their vehicle. The driver died. The passenger was taken to the hospital. There were two others in the vehicle that ran the red light. A 17-year-old and a 13-year-old were injured. The younger person is in critical condition, as is the driver. The 17-year-old's injuries were not believed to be serious. The investigation into these incidents is continuing.

Motor vehicle accidents can have long-term implications no matter who was involved, but when young people who are just getting started in life are injured and killed, it is tragic in multiple ways. If the accident came about because another person was disobeying the law, it is even worse.

Having legal advice on how to investigate the case and take the required steps to file a lawsuit is vital. A law firm that understands all aspects of motor vehicle accidents can help.
